River Days is split into two sessions. On Friday, July 24th we encourage neighborhoods and homeowners along the River to clean up their shorelines. Save The River will assist with supplies and trash removal if needed. On Saturday, July 25th, Save The River will lead cleanups at the following locations: Wilson’s Beach in Cape Vincent; multiple sites in Clayton; Thousand Island Park on Wellesley Island; Otter Creek in Alexandria Bay; and Chippewa Bay near Hammond. Additional sites are pending and will be added to the schedule once they are confirmed!
Save The River supplies all equipment, including trashbags, grabbers, and buckets at each cleanup. Volunteers are encouraged to bring gloves, wear proper shoes and prepare to get a little dirty. Hundreds of pounds of trash are removed from the St. Lawrence thanks to Trash Free River volunteers and STR expects another fun weekend of caring for the River!
